When you attempt to establish a connecting to a Windows Vista or newer computer some of the event log files may not be shown in the Event Log Manager. In order to see the entire list of the event log files, you must use a Windows user logon credentials who is a member of The Event Log Readers local group on the remote computer.

Note: A local group is a group that is stored on the local computer's accounts database. Windows Vista creates many local groups by default. The Event Log Readers local group is one of them.
